IAGO ♛ AGE: 30 ♛ HEIGHT: 5'11" ♛ SCARS: None ♛ TATTOOS: None ♛ APPEARANCE DESCRIPTION: A full body reference of Iago can be found here. His outfit is incredibly stupid; all dark mages in Fire Emblem: Fates shouldn't be allowed to dress themselves. Anyway, Iago isn't particularly noteworthy in terms of appearance outside of his unique manner of dress - he's not particularly tall or intimidating, a bit on the thin and frail side but not enough to really stand out. It's definitely his clothes that draw attention, though he isn't opposed to wearing something more normal as long as it involves his dark mage #aesthetic. He will always wear the half-mask/circlet, that's non-negotiable. Oh, and the makeup's non-negotiable as well, he'll always wear eyeliner, lipstick, and nail polish. His hair also always looks like that, please someone help him manage it... ♛ CHANGES IN GAME: N/A ♛ DEMEANOR: Iago isn't particularly noteworthy in terms of demeanor initially - he carries himself well and he's quick to show respect when necessary, but he is absolutely the sort of person to be back-handed and snide when he can get away with it. He's not particularly rude, but it's pretty obvious that he's just saying what he thinks people want to hear. It's not often Iago actually talks about his own thoughts or feelings on anything, and while he may not be openly rude, it's not often he's actually polite either. He comes across as intelligent and well-spoken, and he certainly seems confident without coming across as overconfident or egotistical. In short, he's remarkably normal at first glance. Just talk to him for a bit and you'll find that he's nowhere near as put-together and normal as he acts. ♛ VOICE: Fire Emblem: Fates is one of those games that doesn't have a ton of voiced lines, so here are most of Iago's. He's voiced by Walden James in Fates and Kirk Thornton in Warriors, which you can hear over here. Either way, Iago is very fond of sarcasm and has a tendency to sound completely and utterly done with everything even when he's genuinely not annoyed. He speaks clearly and enunciates properly, but has a tendency to use a lot of emphasis or speak slowly, all of which has a tendency to sound extremely condescending, even when he's not trying to be. PERMISSIONS ♛ BACKTAGGING: I'll be honest, I'm kind of bad at backtagging! If there's something you want to continue hit me up, though! ♛ FOURTHWALLING: I'd prefer to avoid this. ♛ OOC OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Nothing I can think of, but please warn for suicide! ♛ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: ...Why would you. I mean, you can try it, but Iago won't like it. He doesn't do physical affection and anything unexpected will get him to flinch away immediately. I guess it's theoretically possible for him to warm up to it?? But again, why would you... ♛ RELATIONSHIPS: WHY WOULD YOU. THAT'S A HORRIBLE IDEA. I'm not opposed, but oh my god, look at him. He's terrible. ♛ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Iago's a Sorcerer, which means he's focused exclusively on magic. So please feel free to go for it, without his powers he really can't do anything to retaliate and he'll go down easily. Still, talk to me about this first so we can plan things out! ♛ MINDREADING: Probably not likely to come up, but let me know if it does and I'll share his thoughts! ♛ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Iago is an exceptionally powerful dark mage. He's more or less a step above the Sorcerer class, which is one of the strongest dark magic classes in the game. Iago can use offensive dark magic and defensive healing magic (he uses this for debuffing the enemy instead of healing, but he could heal if needed)... and all of this isn't something he can do here with his powers sealed. So basically you can sense that he's strong, but entirely unable to access his magic here. ♛ MEDICAL INFORMATION: Nothing of note here. ♛ IC OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: The worst you'll get out of him is bitching, Iago doesn't really find anything legitimately upsetting to talk about. Please note that he will not be happy if you attempt to touch his mask or try to get him to take it off. But since I personally find that funny, feel free to go for it!! WARNINGS ♛ ABUSE: This isn't actually Iago's fault (directly), but King Garon (the man Iago serves) is absolutely a horrible person to his children, often forcing them into unfavorable situations or doing things they don't want to do under threat of death. He's very controlling and seems to care very little about them. Iago doesn't directly do anything of the sort to them or anyone else, but he absolutely isn't helping and often tries to convince Garon to be even more distrustful of his children. This isn't very likely to come up. ♛ WAR: Iago is a tactician and a skilled mage and has absolutely seen battle. He's relaxed about the whole thing - war isn't anything particularly noteworthy to him and he does not care at all about how many people he's killed/sent to die/etc. He's much more likely to talk about this and see literally zero problems with his behavior. ♛ MENTAL ILLNESS: Garon's sanity seems to be slipping the further in the story it goes, with his moodswings becoming more frequent and his orders more harsh and making less sense. He routinely threatens his own children (and everyone in his vicinity, to the point of killing several servants and soldiers and just... leaving their bodies in his room) and everyone acknowledges that Garon isn't doing well mentally. His body is definitely going as well, and Iago spends a good portion of the time in the manga looking after Garon. The truth is that Garon is actually being controlled by another person entirely, so this isn't exactly mental illness, but it definitely has the signs of it. Iago isn't likely to bring this up with most people, but please let me know if you'd prefer to avoid any mention of it! He also doesn't know about the possession, so that will never come up. ♛ BEING AN AWFUL PERSON: The rest of this isn't anything really specific, Iago's just awful. He has little to no empathy or sympathy for other people, and prioritizes himself above everyone else. He's a terrible person who has killed a lot of people, both in Garon's name and in order to secure his position. He uses people as he sees fit, and he doesn't bother to play nice if he feels he doesn't need to. He's also quick to enable Garon's wild moodswings and orders, and says literally nothing about Garon's lashing out and killing of innocents. So there's all that fun stuff too!!
